Before the hectic holiday season begins, we want to pause & reflect on what truly matters during this time of year.. celebrating with our loved ones. As we are so privileged to witness enormous amounts of love and joining of families & loved ones so often here at The Farm, we wanted to be able to share a little piece of that with you. Often times we see celebrations dedicated to certain days of the year or time frames of the week, it is so important to cherish the ones you love as often as you can. We hope throughout the story of one of our couples, Chris & Tara, you will be reminded that love can & should be celebrated no matter the day of the week or year.
A guide to hosting on a weekday
Tara & Chris hosted a really special weekday wedding that was filled with love, laughter & loved ones. Tara noted that one of her most favorite memories of the day was celebrating with their closest friends and family & feeling so loved. In her words, seeing everything come together and having a beautiful day is what created another one of her favorite memories. As we all know, planning a wedding can tend to get a little overwhelming so seeing Tara & Chris enjoy their vision was really special. We chatted with them to get a little first hand experience and advice about hosting a weekday wedding & we hope you will be reminded that each day can be used to celebrate with our Guide on Hosting A Weekday Wedding!
Step one: Plan early
When chatting with Tara & Chris more about why they chose a Weekday Wedding, one of their top reasons this worked for their family was the price point. While the price helped, they said hosting on a weekday “was actually nice to mix it up & just do something unconventional and different.” However, their top piece of advice would be to start planning early, for example “make sure to send Save the Dates & Invites in a timely manner” so that your loved ones can also plan in advance. Another amazing idea Tara & Chris had was planning for a weekday in the summer so that their kids & others would be off of school. This way they could have a bit more flexibility & actually be here for their special day. Not only did kids have a bit more flexibility during this time but the adults as well.
After deciding that a Weekday Wedding was best for their immediate family, they decided they quickly needed to check in with their bridal party. Tara & Chris made sure to talk to their potential bridal party early about hosting during the week. They advised to check in prior to officially asking so that “[their bridal party] wouldn’t feel obligated if they couldn’t make it.” If you couldn’t already tell, Tara & Chris truly demonstrate the most consideration for their loved ones as they took so many steps to help ensure an easy Weekday Wedding for all.
Step two: Location
When hosting a Weekday Wedding, there a bit more factors to consider! If you are thinking of celebrating on a weekday, Tara & Chris suggest finding a venue that is local for your guests would be a great help. They thought that “asking people to travel really far mid week wouldn’t have been fair” and so finding somewhere that doesn’t require much travel would be amazing. As a great meeting point for folks traveling from the Philadelphia area, the Lehigh Valley or even New Jersey, The Farm makes for a great meeting point.
Step three: vendors
Another thing to consider when hosting during the week would be your vendors! Not only would you want to ensure their availability but Chris & Tara found that rates might be adjusted for weekday events. Here at The Farm, we do offer weekday pricing for our weddings so other vendors might have that as well. Tara & Chris hosted an intimate group of close family and friends to celebrate their love here & were joined by The Munchie Machine as their catering team. It was a special day to witness, which was perfectly captured by Anna Claire Photography. & of course, wouldn’t have been complete with out fun dancing with tunes produced by PSK Entertainment.
why the farm?
We know selecting the perfect place for your special day can be overwhelming. Tara & Chris had some insight on how choosing The Farm came to be. They said they had “fallen in love with The Farm from the very beginning" & that “the scenery is absolutely stunning.” It was important to them to find a place that fit their vibe. They knew with hosting a weekday wedding that it could be “more low key, chill, & comfortable” when hosting during the middle of the week. What we love so much about The Farm, is that we see it easily transform to fit a couples’ vibe.
thank you!
To Tara & Chris, for sharing special moments they had here at The Farm. It is so special to us that you were able to create unforgettable memories such as “personal vows to each other” or “having [your] oldest son, Max walk [Tara] down the isle to meet Chris & [their] younger son, Leo.” It's moments like these that make hosting so special, no matter when it happens! We hope that seeing the love celebrated with inspire you to hug your loved ones a little tighter this weekend & remind each other that something so special should & could be celebrated on any day of the week.
A special THANK YOU to all of the vendors that helped create this lovely day!
